Expo Centre Sharjah is preparing the third Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition, scheduled from 29th January to 1st February at Expo Al Dhaid, to support sustainable agriculture and food security. The event is described as the first specialised gathering of its type in the region and is organised with backing from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock.

The exhibition is set to host more than 40 agriculture and livestock companies, together with farmers, family businesses, entrepreneurs and government bodies from across the UAE. Exhibitors will present practical farming solutions and advanced technologies designed for local conditions, addressing both small producers and larger agribusiness operators with a range of commercial offerings.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Chief Executive Officer of Expo Centre Sharjah, said the event underlines the Centre’s role in consolidating Sharjah’s status as a regional base for agricultural innovation and knowledge exchange. According to Al Midfa, the exhibition also serves as a meeting point for policymakers, experts and farmers to discuss sector challenges, such as climate pressures and supply chain issues.

Al Midfa highlighted that improving water efficiency remains a central theme, aligning activities with the UAE National Food Security Strategy 2051. Participants are expected to explore ways to raise productivity while conserving resources, with discussions covering irrigation efficiency, modern farming practices and the adoption of technology to reduce losses along the supply chain.

Exhibits will feature hydroponic and vertical farming systems, poultry and fish farming solutions, beekeeping equipment, smart irrigation technologies, water treatment systems and contemporary storage facilities. The event will also present heavy-duty agricultural machinery and updated horticultural tools, along with crop protection products and methods to manage pests, diseases and weeds in different cultivation environments.

The programme includes interactive sessions and panel discussions on growing medicinal, ornamental, fruit and vegetable crops. Experts will share research on high-yield and climate-resilient plant varieties, while sessions will examine sustainable agriculture practices and supply chain management aimed at reducing waste and improving access to markets for local produce.

Mohammad Musabah Al Tunaiji, Director of Expo Al Dhaid, said preparations are progressing to receive delegations and visitors from various emirates. Al Tunaiji noted that the Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition provides farmers and agribusiness leaders with practical, field-tested solutions, while encouraging networking, information exchange and stronger competitiveness for locally produced agricultural goods.

The Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition 2026 is open daily from 11:00 to 19:00, with extended Friday hours from 15:00 to 21:00. The organisers expect steady visitor traffic from professionals and the public, creating opportunities for commercial agreements and partnerships that support the long-term development of the UAE’s agricultural and food security agenda.
