Al Asayl Exhibition 2024 Attracts Thousands With Falcon Auction And Camel Racing Events
The "Al Asayl Exhibition 2024" recently concluded at Expo Al Dhaid, drawing a large number of visitors and traditional sports fans from across the UAE. Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with backing from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), the event featured a packed schedule of hunting and equestrian displays, along with various heritage activities.
A major attraction was the public Falcon Auction, which debuted this year. Falconers and breeders showcased rare falcons like Shaheen, Gyr Shaheen, Gyr Peregrine, and pure Gyr falcons. The auction attracted significant interest from attendees. Camel racing also stood out as a highlight, offering an energetic atmosphere with intense competition among participants.

Sultan Mohammed Shattaf Al Amrani, Commercial Director of Expo Centre Sharjah, highlighted that over 250 companies and brands specialising in equestrian and falconry equipment participated. He noted a rise in heritage activities related to hunting, equestrian sports, and falconry. The exhibition aimed to celebrate UAE's cultural heritage while promoting innovation.
The event saw strong visitor engagement, captivating both amateurs and enthusiasts over its four-day run. It aimed to strengthen Sharjah's position as a hub for hunting and equestrian sports. Additionally, it sought to foster new business partnerships while supporting horse, camel, and falcon owners alongside related companies.
Salem Al Tunaiji, General Coordinator of the Falcon Auction at the exhibition, noted that rare falcon species were showcased for the first time. These birds were presented by owners and specialised farms, drawing considerable attention from visitors. The auction also provided insights into falconry techniques and principles.
The exhibition offered a variety of falcon care products along with essential tools and supplies for enthusiasts. By hosting such events, Expo Centre Sharjah continues to embrace cultural traditions while encouraging business growth in these specialised fields.
