Ajman To Highlight Tourism Expansion And Cultural Heritage At Arabian Travel Market 2024

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) is poised for a significant showcase at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 (ATM), happening from May 6 to May 9, 2024. This key event will be a platform for ADTD to highlight Ajman's cultural heritage, vibrant events calendar, diverse tourism offerings, and the sector's growth. The department aims to seek strategic partnerships at ATM 2024 to boost Ajman's global tourism position.

Recent data illustrates a remarkable uptick in Ajman's tourism sector, with a 5% increase in tourism activity noted in October 2023, alongside an 11% rise in visitor numbers. This growth has led to a 5% increase in Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), contributing to an 11% growth in Total Revenue Year Over Year (YOY). International arrivals soared by 29% in 2023 compared to 2022, with international visitors making up 60% of total arrivals, showcasing Ajman's expanding global appeal.

Ajman s Tourism Leap at ATM 2024

As of Q1 2024, Ajman continues to experience positive growth, with a 7% increase in total revenues compared to Q1 2023. Accommodation demand is also on the rise, with a 3% increase in occupancy rates and a 9% upsurge in visitor numbers. Additionally, the average Length of Stay (LOS) has increased by 5%, indicating visitors are spending more time in Ajman. Leisure travel remains the primary visitation motive, accounting for about 70% of total arrivals.

A diverse range of source markets contribute to Ajman's tourism sector, with GCC countries, the Russian Federation, India, the UK, and Egypt being top contributors. The local UAE market also plays a crucial role, catering to staycations, corporate business, and MICE activities.

His Excellency Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTD, highlighted the importance of forming new partnerships during ATM 2024. He emphasized Ajman's dedication to presenting its vibrant culture, rich heritage, and exceptional hospitality, aligning with Ajman Vision 2030's strategic goals for sustainable tourism development.

Alhashmi also stated the department's commitment to showcasing Ajman's diverse events, activities, and experiences, aiming to make a lasting impression on visitors. Through new partnerships, ADTD seeks to boost the tourism sector, contributing to Ajman's economic growth and cultural enrichment.

ADTD will collaborate with esteemed partners and co-exhibitors at ATM 2024, including Ajman Saray - A Luxury Collection Resort, The Oberoi Beach Resort Al Zorah, Radisson Blu Hotel, Fairmont Ajman, and other prestigious entities. This collective effort highlights Ajman's commitment to offering world-class hospitality and experiences.
