Ajman's Department Of Tourism Development To Host The Etihad Ajman Golf Championship In January

The Ajman Department of Tourism Development has revealed plans to host the Etihad Ajman Golf Tournament on 24th and 25th January. Sponsored by Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE), this event highlights the department's dedication to boosting tourism in Ajman. The announcement took place at a press conference held at Al Zorah Golf Club.

Present at the press conference were Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD); Yousef Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE; and George Saad, CEO of Zorah Development. They discussed the significance of the tournament for the region's tourism and community engagement.

Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi expressed enthusiasm for hosting the championship, stating, "We are thrilled to host the Etihad Ajman Golf Championship, a reflection of our commitment to empowering youth through sports. This event not only encourages active participation but also strengthens community bonds by fostering meaningful interactions." He emphasised ATDD's role in promoting sports initiatives that attract both local and international tourists.

Yousef Al Ali highlighted EtihadWE's role in supporting national well-being through events like this tournament. He stated, "EtihadWE facilitate events and initiatives that promote the well-being of the nation, in line with our commitment to promote community practices and achieve corporate social responsibility objectives." By sponsoring this event, they aim to enhance institutional collaboration for national progress.

The tournament will feature 120 skilled players from across the UAE. These participants will compete for the championship trophy in a professional setting. This environment will also allow them to connect with leading local golfers and engage with golf enthusiasts.

The initiative underscores Ajman's growing reputation as a prime destination offering varied tourism experiences. It aims to strengthen community ties through sports while promoting Ajman as a hub for sports tourism.
