Ajman Tourism Elevates Global Presence With Successful UK Roadshow
The Ajman Department of Tourism Development (ADTD) recently concluded a promotional tour in the UK, marking a significant step towards positioning Ajman as a leading tourist destination. The tour, which took place from 12-16 February 2024, aimed at forging strong partnerships and boosting Ajman's visibility on the global tourism stage. Under the leadership of Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of ADTD, the delegation embarked on a journey starting in Glasgow and proceeding through Birmingham and Guildford, engaging with key tourism and travel companies.
In a strategic move to bolster investment in the tourism sector, ADTD signed a memorandum of understanding with Mezze Associates Ltd, a consultancy renowned for its expertise in tourism and entertainment. This partnership is expected to unlock new avenues for enhancing Ajman's tourism offerings. A notable event during the tour was a business lunch in London, where Alhashmi and executives from top UK tour operators discussed collaborative efforts to promote sustainable growth in Ajman's tourism sector.

Alhashmi expressed his satisfaction with the campaign's results, highlighting the importance of such partnerships in attracting more visitors to Ajman. He remarked, "The cooperation agreement with Mezze Associates solidifies Ajman's status as a distinctive tourist destination. We are committed to enriching the cultural heritage and tourism aspects that make our emirate a preferred choice for international tourists."
Ajman has witnessed remarkable growth in its tourism sector, evidenced by an 11% increase in hotel revenues, a 6% rise in occupancy rates, and an 11% surge in visitor numbers compared to the previous year. These statistics underscore the emirate's growing appeal as a tourist hotspot.
The ADTD's efforts are geared towards raising awareness about Ajman as an attractive destination that offers unique experiences rooted in local culture and history. The anticipated outcomes of these initiatives include significant contributions to the local economy, job creation, increased hotel occupancy rates, and an enhanced reputation for Ajman as an inviting place for tourists.
