Ajman Port And Customs Officials Discuss Trade Enhancement With UAE Minister

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Port and Customs Department, welcomed Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, at the department's headquarters. The meeting included Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of Ajman Port and Customs Department, Juma Al Kait, Assistant Under-Secretary for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, and several other officials.

Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi emphasised that the UAE is recognised globally as a leading hub for non-oil foreign trade. He noted that the country has strengthened its trade network by signing Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements, which support economic diversification and help double the nation's GDP. He highlighted that data indicates robust trade activity between the UAE and other countries, with maritime transport playing a key role.

Trade Talks at Ajman Port

The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Ajman Port and federal government entities to support foreign trade. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi stressed the importance of this visit in boosting coordination efforts to achieve sustainable economic diversification and increase non-oil GDP growth in the UAE. He pointed out Ajman's strategic location on the Arabian Gulf coast as a significant factor in its role as a link between various emirates.

During the briefing, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi was informed about recent initiatives and projects launched by Ajman Port and Customs Department. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi highlighted the department's efforts to advance customs operations, facilitate foreign trade, diversify the economy, and increase container volume growth at Ajman Port.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi also mentioned that Ajman Port provides top-notch facilities and services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
