Ajman Parks Recognised With Green Flag Award For Environmental Excellence In 2024-2025

Al Safia Park and Ajman Chamber Park have been honoured with the Green Flag Award for 2024-2025. This recognition highlights the dedication of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department in implementing top-tier international practices for green spaces. The award underscores their commitment to environmental sustainability and community service.

Dr. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, attributed this achievement to the parks' adherence to global environmental standards. He noted that these parks offer accessible facilities for People of Determination, alongside their aesthetic appeal through afforestation and gardening. Safety measures and recreational events further enhance their community value.

Al Hosani emphasised that several improvements have been made to boost environmental and social performance within Emirate projects. Future urban plans aim to align with global standards while considering local climate conditions and community needs. This strategic approach ensures sustainable development across Ajman.

The Director of Agriculture and Public Parks Department, Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, highlighted that this accolade is part of ongoing efforts to elevate city facilities to international standards. The department aims to broaden park participation in the award programme, ensuring they meet all criteria set by the Green Flag Award.

Al Muhairi also mentioned plans to transform Emirate parks into welcoming spaces that preserve both environment and heritage. These parks are envisioned as safe, healthy places fostering community involvement, aligning with the Emirate's vision for a sustainable environment and modern infrastructure.

This year, two parks were entered into the award programme, meeting all necessary requirements aimed at promoting high-quality public parks. These parks are managed with a focus on sustainability and quality, reflecting a commitment to enhancing public confidence in green spaces.

Previous Achievements

In 2023, Flag Park, Jadat Al Ezz Park, and Ghabat Al Regayeb Park in Ajman received the Green Flag Award. Continuing this success, Al Safia Park and Ajman Chamber Park have now earned the 2024 award. The Green Flag Award programme seeks to elevate park standards globally, boosting public trust in these vital community resources.

The ongoing efforts by Ajman's authorities demonstrate a clear vision for creating sustainable urban environments. By prioritising environmental standards and community engagement, they are setting a benchmark for future developments in green space management.
