Ajman Municipality And WGEO Commit To Green Development And Climate Resilience
In a significant move towards fostering a sustainable future, the 7th International Environment Conference (AIEC) became the backdrop for a pivotal agreement. The World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO) and the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering global efforts for green development. This partnership focuses on creating a model that thrives on low-carbon emissions and is resilient to climate change.
The MoU was ceremoniously signed in the presence of notable figures, including Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, and Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the WGEO. Abdulrahman Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, and Waleed bin Salman, Vice Chairman of WGEO, were the signatories of this landmark agreement.

This collaboration outlines a comprehensive framework for mutual cooperation across various domains. Key aspects of this partnership include facilitating the Department’s membership in WGEO's ‘Public Sector’ Platform and aiding in the development and enforcement of eco-friendly policies and regulations. The agreement also highlights the importance of joint initiatives and projects within Ajman to advocate for green economy principles.
Moreover, the MoU encompasses capacity-building training programs designed to elevate the expertise of local government officials and stakeholders in sustainable practices.
