AIQ Partners With SKK Migas To Transform Indonesia's Upstream Energy Operations
AIQ, a leader in artificial intelligence based in Abu Dhabi, has partnered with Indonesia's SKK Migas to introduce AIQ’s Reservoir Performance Advisor (RPA) module from the Advanced Reservoir 360 (AR360) platform into Indonesia's upstream oil and gas operations. The AR360 tool enhances productivity by 75% through predictive, automated reservoir model assessments. It allows asset team members to access comprehensive reservoir data via a cloud-based dashboard.
The collaboration aims to integrate AIQ’s machine learning and automation capabilities into existing workflows, enhancing efficiency and innovation in Indonesia's energy sector. This agreement also sets the stage for future initiatives in AI, digitalisation, and autonomous operations, fostering new opportunities for growth and resilience.

This partnership is part of AIQ’s broader international expansion strategy. The company has already established agreements with national energy firms in Kazakhstan and Colombia. These collaborations focus on streamlining operations, adding value, and accelerating digital transformation within the energy sector.
Dennis Jol, CEO of AIQ, highlighted the significance of this agreement for Indonesia's upstream sector. "Indonesia's upstream sector faces unique challenges with mature fields requiring sophisticated reservoir management. This agreement directly addresses SKK Migas' need to optimise production from existing assets while reducing operational costs, demonstrating how targeted AI applications can extend field life and improve recovery rates. This is a major milestone in AIQ's international growth strategy, and we are proud to bring our UAE-developed innovations to Indonesia, advancing digital transformation across the upstream sector."
Dr. Djoko Siswanto, Head of SKK Migas, expressed optimism about the collaboration with AIQ. "Our collaboration with AIQ reflects SKK Migas’ commitment to driving innovation and building a smarter, more resilient upstream sector. By leveraging advanced AI capabilities through strategic partnerships, we aim to enhance national energy security, boost operational performance, and position Indonesia as a regional leader in digital transformation."
The RPA module empowers users by integrating advanced machine learning directly into their workflows. This integration not only optimises production but also reduces costs by improving recovery rates from mature fields. The partnership underscores the potential of targeted AI applications in extending field life.
By democratising access to reservoir data through its cloud-based dashboard, AR360 ensures that all asset team members can efficiently perform comprehensive model reviews. This accessibility is crucial for enhancing productivity and fostering innovation within the industry.
The strategic agreement between AIQ and SKK Migas marks a significant step towards digital transformation in Indonesia’s energy sector. It highlights the role of advanced technologies in addressing challenges faced by mature fields while promoting sustainable growth.
