AIQ Secures Landmark $340 Million Contract For Agentic AI Deployment Across ADNOC Operations
AIQ, a company under Presight, has secured a significant US$340 million contract with ADNOC. This agreement aims to implement ENERGYai and related AI technologies across ADNOC's upstream operations over three years. The initiative is expected to enhance efficiency and optimisation in these operations.
ENERGYai, developed from 70 years of proprietary data, integrates large language model technology with advanced agentic AI. This combination is tailored for specific workflows within ADNOC's upstream value chain. It aims to streamline tasks such as seismic analysis and geological modeling, reducing the time needed for essential processes from months to days while also cutting costs and emissions.

The deployment of ENERGYai will allow engineers to interact with ADNOC's proprietary data using large language models. This interaction is designed to boost individual productivity by providing new insights and opportunities. The technology promises to deliver a new level of precision and efficiency in critical tasks.
Musabbeh Al Kaabi, CEO of ADNOC Upstream, stated, "ADNOC is on a mission to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company, maximising the potential of AI to drive efficiency and value creation across our operations. We look forward to working with AIQ to scale ENERGYai across the upstream business, consolidating our position as a responsible and reliable supplier of energy to global markets, delivering the energy system of the future."
AIQ developed ENERGYai alongside ADNOC experts, collaborating with G42 and Microsoft. The solution incorporates top-tier technologies like Azure cloud stack, agentic AI platform functionality, Open Subsurface Data Universe framework (OSDU), and OpenAI models. These integrations are set to enhance the capabilities of ADNOC's upstream operations significantly.
Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director at AIQ, remarked on the significance of this contract: "This contract marks a defining moment for AIQ. In partnership with ADNOC, we have developed a world-first agentic AI solution that is scalable across the entire energy value chain and has the potential to transform the industry as we know it. We are proud to see ENERGYai move from a successful proof-of-concept to full deployment, enabling ADNOC to unlock unparalleled efficiencies, reduce carbon intensity, and advance their sustainability ambitions."
Future Prospects for ENERGYai
The first operational version of ENERGYai is anticipated by mid-2025. This version will feature five fully functional AI agents handling subsurface operations tasks. It will initially be tested on several upstream assets before expanding its application across thousands more wells.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, expressed pride in this collaboration: "We congratulate AIQ on signing this landmark agreement with ADNOC. As the major shareholder of AIQ, we are incredibly proud to see this partnership come to life, and we remain committed to supporting AIQ’s growth as it continues to drive innovation and create lasting value for the energy industry and our shareholders."
Throughout the three-year contract period, AIQ plans to deploy ENERGYai across all of ADNOC's upstream assets. These assets include over 28 producing fields known for being among the world's largest and least carbon-intensive oilfields.
