The report summarises discussions from the fourth Industry Insights Roundtable, which concentrated on the legal sector.

The roundtable was chaired by Izabella Szadkowska, Partner Corporate Structuring at Al Tamimi & Company, alongside other DBWC members specialising in various legal fields. The report underscores the increasing integration of AI across different legal domains, examining its benefits, ethical implications, tools, and applications within the sector.

AI's Impact on Dubai's Legal Practices

Participants highlighted AI's potential to enhance efficiency and critical thinking in tasks such as drafting legal contracts and conducting legal verification. They noted that AI could simplify procedures and increase accuracy. However, ethical concerns such as bias and data privacy were also discussed.

The roundtable emphasised the importance of incorporating AI tools into legal curricula to equip future professionals with necessary skills. The cost-benefit ratio of investing in AI tools was another focal point, especially for smaller firms facing integration challenges.

Izabella Szadkowska stressed the necessity of aligning technological advancements with client expectations to leverage modern technologies for enhancing the competitiveness of the legal sector. She also highlighted the need to improve AI effectiveness in different languages to ensure diversity.

Nadine Halabi, Business Development Manager at DBWC, pointed out that encouraging the integration of advanced technologies was a major takeaway from the discussion. This aims to secure the future and expand the legal services sector. Halabi affirmed the Council's commitment to regularly enhancing members' professional skills and knowledge.
