H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed To Inaugurate WETEX 2024 Focusing On Sustainability Innovations

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed the opening of the 26th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. This event, organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), will occur at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 1st to 3rd October 2024. The theme for this year is ‘At the forefront of sustainability’.

Approximately 2,800 companies from 65 nations will showcase their latest innovations in energy, water, green development, and sustainability. The exhibition will also focus on decarbonisation, green mobility, green hydrogen, cybersecurity, digitisation, sustainable cities, and green buildings. WETEX 2024 will feature 21 international pavilions.

The Green Mobility Hall and Future Energy Landscape Forum are key attractions at WETEX this year. Additionally, a Health and Safety Hub will be part of the exhibition. DEWA is organising numerous seminars and discussion panels with global experts to explore topics shaping a sustainable future.

WETEX will facilitate interactions between companies, governments, private institutions, and investors through Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) platforms. These meetings aim to foster collaboration across various sectors involved in sustainability efforts.

The event coincides with the 10th World Green Economy Summit (WGES), held from 2nd to 3rd October 2024 at DWTC. Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, it is organised by DSCE, DEWA, and WGEO. The summit focuses on decarbonisation goals and clean energy advancements.

WGES 2024 will address several thematic pillars such as climate finance, circular economy practices, policy frameworks for climate change mitigation, technology's role in combating climate issues, youth involvement in climate action, and food and water security.

This year's WETEX promises to be a significant platform for innovation in sustainability. It brings together diverse stakeholders to discuss advancements in energy efficiency and environmental protection. The event aims to drive forward-thinking solutions for a greener future.
