UAE's Ahmed Al Sayegh Engages In Regional Cooperation At ACD Meeting In Tehran

Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, attended the 19th Ministerial Meeting of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in Tehran. The meeting, chaired by Iran, focused on "Towards an Asian Community through Enhanced ACD".

Al Sayegh expressed the UAE's deep condolences to Iran for the recent passing of President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to multilateral engagement in areas like climate change, food and water security, sustainable development, and healthcare.

UAE Engages at ACD Meeting

Highlighting regional cooperation's significance, Al Sayegh emphasized seizing future opportunities and addressing shared challenges. He stressed the importance of the ACD framework in enhancing cooperation and building bridges across Asian communities. The UAE remains a steadfast supporter of ACD initiatives.

Regarding the Gaza conflict, Al Sayegh reiterated the UAE's call for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through a two-state solution. He also called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Al Sayegh underscored the UAE’s efforts to ensure that international responses enable safe and sustainable humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza. He highlighted that aid should reach all regions via land, sea, and air to alleviate critical conditions faced by Gaza residents due to ongoing conflict.

The meeting underscored the UAE's unwavering dedication to multilateralism in priority areas such as climate change, food security, sustainable development, and healthcare. Al Sayegh noted that regional cooperation is crucial for tackling shared challenges and seizing future opportunities.

The UAE’s position on humanitarian aid is clear: ensuring that relief reaches those in need through all available means is paramount. This includes using land, sea, and air routes to deliver aid effectively.

In his remarks at the meeting, Al Sayegh reaffirmed the UAE’s support for ACD initiatives aimed at fostering cooperation among Asian communities. He emphasized that building bridges across these communities is essential for collective progress.
