ADSW 2025 Unveils Strategic Partnerships To Enhance Sustainable Progress Agenda

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is set to take place from January 12 to 18. Supported by the UAE and hosted by Masdar, this event aims to drive sustainable development through collaboration. Key partners include the Department of Energy (DoE), ADNOC, World Wide Technology (WWT), Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), and EMSTEEL Group.

The partnerships formed for ADSW 2025 are crucial for fostering cross-sector collaboration. The Department of Energy serves as the principal partner, while ADNOC and WWT are strategic partners. Associate partners include EGA and EMSTEEL Group, with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) supporting the opening ceremony. These collaborations aim to advance sustainable systems transformation.

ADSW 2025 Reveals Key Sustainability Partnerships

ADSW 2025 will operate under the theme ‘The Nexus of Next. Supercharging Sustainable Progress.’ It will unite government officials, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, youth, and other stakeholders to accelerate economic, social, and environmental progress. The event highlights the UAE’s role in catalysing positive change by connecting global communities for a sustainable future.

Dr. Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy stated: "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a manifestation of Abu Dhabi’s commitment to address global sustainability challenges and create opportunities." He emphasised that energy transformation should be a shared responsibility to shape a prosperous future.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer from DEWA highlighted their partnership with Masdar in renewable energy. He noted that ADSW is vital for advancing innovation in sustainability. "We are pleased to once again partner with Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week," he said, underscoring DEWA's commitment to supporting the UAE’s leadership in global net zero efforts.

Driving Economic Transformation

Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi remarked: "ADSW has firmly positioned itself at the nexus of bold thinking and action." He explained that ADSW 2025 aims to unlock an economic transformation worth over $10 trillion by integrating people, energy, data, finance, and the environment. This reflects the UAE’s ambition to supercharge sustainable progress.

Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi from ADNOC praised ADSW as a leading platform for sustainable development over 15 years. He stated: "ADSW has been a leading platform for catalysing global sustainable development." ADNOC focuses on delivering energy responsibly while investing in lower-carbon solutions.

Commitment to Decarbonisation

Emirates Global Aluminium CEO Abdulnasser Bin Kalban stressed aluminium's role in sustainability. He said decarbonising 'hard-to-abate' sectors like aluminium is key to achieving net zero goals. "No industry can decarbonize alone," he noted, highlighting ADSW's role in fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

Eng. Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi from EMSTEEL emphasised collaboration for true change towards sustainability. He stated: "To bring about true change... it is imperative that we collaborate with our partners and peers." EMSTEEL prioritises sustainable solutions in steel and building materials industries.

Technology's Role in Sustainability

World Wide Technology's Warrick Cramer highlighted technology's role at ADSW in addressing environmental challenges. "Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week serves as a catalyst for leveraging technology," he said. AI and advanced technologies will drive sustainable solutions, accelerating transition towards a smarter future.

Additional partners confirmed for ADSW 2025 include Mubadala, Huawei, GE Vernova, HSBC, Agility, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), TotalEnergies, Fertiglobe, 1PointFive, bp, BEEAH, Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), and Dii Desert Energy.

As preparations continue for ADSW 2025 in Abu Dhabi next January, these partnerships underscore a collective commitment towards achieving sustainability goals globally through innovation and collaboration across various sectors.
