ADSW Summit 2025: Global Leaders Gather To Drive Sustainable Development And Economic Transformation
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025, under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will gather 13 heads of state and over 140 ministers and officials. The ADSW Summit aims to accelerate socioeconomic and technological progress, potentially unlocking a $10 trillion economic transformation. The event will take place on January 14-15, featuring 34 sessions with more than 70 speakers.
The summit's theme, "The Nexus of Next. Supercharging Sustainable Progress," highlights the convergence of human ingenuity and advanced technologies like AI. This approach aims to create a resilient, inclusive future. Heads of state attending include Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, William Ruto of Kenya, Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, Paul Kagame of Rwanda, and others.

The summit's agenda includes discussions on transforming global energy systems and exploring AI's impact alongside other emerging technologies. Topics such as water and food security are also on the agenda. Keynote addresses, panel discussions, and fireside chats will highlight opportunities for sustainable development.

High-level discussions will cover reshaping investment patterns through digital-climate connections. Financing future initiatives and modeling climate risk with big data are also key topics. Innovations in energy storage and behavioural changes towards sustainability will be explored.

Commitment to Clean Energy
Reflecting its sustainability commitment, Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) provides Clean Energy Certificates for approximately 305 megawatts (MW) needed for ADSW 2025 at ADNEC. Hosted by Masdar, UAE’s clean energy leader, ADSW features several key events throughout the week engaging global stakeholders.
Key dates include January 12-13 for IRENA Assembly; January 13 for Global Climate Finance Annual Meeting; January 14 for Opening Ceremony and Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony; January 14-15 for ADSW Summit; January 14-16 for World Future Energy Summit; Youth 4 Sustainability Forum & Hub on January 15; Women in Sustainability Forum on January 16; Green Hydrogen Summit on January 16.
The event concludes with The Festival at Masdar City on January 17-18.
