ADSSA Partners With First Abu Dhabi Bank To Offer Marriage Loans For Emirati Couples

The Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority (ADSSA) has partnered with First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) to provide a marriage loan service. This collaboration is part of the Emirati Family Growth Programme, initiated by the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, aiming to improve life quality and strengthen social bonds in the emirate.

Since its launch in September 2024, ADSSA has received 515 applications for this loan service. Of these, 58% are eligible, 32% do not meet the criteria, and 10% are still under review. The service offers an interest-free loan of up to AED150,000 to help newlywed Emirati couples start their married lives without financial strain.

ADSSA and FAB Collaborate on Marriage Loans

To qualify for the loan, applicants must be UAE nationals with Family Books from Abu Dhabi. They need to register in the "Medeem" programme and choose a wedding package through it. Applications are reviewed within 30 days via the "TAMM" platform.

Applicants must also meet specific conditions: they should not have been married before, except widowers; the groom must be at least 21 years old and the bride at least 18 at marriage. The groom's monthly salary should not exceed AED60,000 after pension deductions.

The loan aims to ease financial burdens on young couples by promoting facilitated marriages. It underscores its importance in ensuring marital stability by reducing financial stress on youth. FAB will verify applicants' creditworthiness in cooperation with relevant authorities before notifying approved candidates.

Dr. Bushra Al Mulla of ADSSA expressed pride in their progress, stating, "We are truly proud of the progress we have achieved until now in serving Abu Dhabi's community." She highlighted their goal to provide comprehensive services for financial and family stability.

Partnership Goals

Futoon Al Mazrouei from FAB emphasised their commitment to supporting Emirati youth financially. "We aim to provide Emirati youth with the required resources and facilities to secure their financial well-being," she said. This partnership aligns with national visions while empowering young people.

The initiative also includes extended maternity leave for Emirati mothers in private sectors under the Growth programme. This service extends maternity leave to 90 days, allowing new mothers ample time for rest and childcare before resuming work duties.

This collaboration between ADSSA and FAB reflects a broader effort to support family growth and stability within Abu Dhabi's community through targeted financial assistance and supportive services.
