ADNOC L&S Takes Delivery Of Fourth New-Build LNG Carrier 'Al Sadaf' To Enhance Fleet Capacity

ADNOC Logistics & Services plc (ADNOC L&S) has received 'Al Sadaf,' the fourth of six new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard in China. This state-of-the-art LNG carrier was delivered on time and is set to embark on its first commercial journey immediately. The acquisition of 'Al Sadaf' is a significant step in ADNOC L&S's extensive fleet renewal and expansion strategy, enhancing their operational capabilities.

The delivery ceremony for 'Al Sadaf' was attended by Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC L&S, and Fatema Al Nuaimi, CEO of ADNOC Gas. As the vessel's 'godmother,' Al Nuaimi performed the naming ceremony. This event highlighted the strong collaboration between ADNOC L&S and ADNOC Gas, supporting the ADNOC Group's integrated value chain and commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

ADNOC L&S Welcomes New LNG Carrier 'Al Sadaf'

Equipped with advanced energy-efficient technologies, 'Al Sadaf' boasts a capacity of 175,000 m3. It features two new-generation LNG dual-fuel main engines designed to cut methane emissions by up to 50% compared to older models. These technological advancements align with ADNOC L&S's goal of building a versatile and energy-efficient fleet that meets global demands for lower-carbon energy.

The remaining two LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard are expected in the first half of 2026. These vessels are part of a larger new-build program that includes nine Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) from Shanghai-based shipyards. This expansion supports ADNOC L&S's long-term focus on creating shareholder value through enhanced earnings potential.

ADNOC L&S plays a crucial role in enabling ADNOC Gas to deliver products globally. Through integrated maritime logistics, they ensure safe, efficient transportation of LNG and other energy products from the UAE to international markets. "The delivery of ‘Al Sadaf’ demonstrates ADNOC L&S’s disciplined execution of our fleet renewal and expansion program," said Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi.

"ADNOC Gas is proud to work alongside ADNOC L&S on the delivery of ‘Al Sadaf’, a next-generation LNG carrier that reflects our shared commitment to growth and operational excellence," stated Fatema Al Nuaimi. The ongoing LNG Berth Upgrade Project at Das Island enhances berth capacity for larger LNG carriers up to 180,000 m3, improving export flexibility and commercial value.

ADNOC L&S's record-breaking performance in early 2025 highlights how their robust strategy translates into tangible growth. Each addition to their next-generation fleet strengthens their ability to seize new opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and deliver shareholder value while advancing lower-carbon maritime logistics commitments.

The strategic alignment between ADNOC L&S and ADNOC Gas reinforces their mission to responsibly meet global energy needs while advancing sustainability and operational excellence. This partnership ensures that both companies are well-positioned to capture growth opportunities in an evolving energy landscape.
