ADNOC L&S Contributes AED 1 Billion To UAE Economy Through In-Country Value Initiatives In 2024
Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics & Services (ADNOC L&S), emphasised the company's pivotal role in boosting industrial excellence and empowering national capabilities. This aligns with the UAE's vision for economic diversification. Speaking at the "Make it in the Emirates" forum, Al Masabi expressed pride in ADNOC L&S' participation, highlighting its commitment to supporting local manufacturing and fostering innovation across the UAE.
Al Masabi revealed that ADNOC L&S has commissioned 31 vessels within the country, creating over 300 jobs and strengthening the UAE's industrial base. These vessels are used for transporting personnel, cargo, and providing offshore logistics support. This underscores the company's contribution to enhancing local production and operational resilience.

The CEO highlighted ADNOC L&S' integration of advanced technologies and AI, particularly through the AI-powered SMARTi system. Developed with AIQ, a joint venture between ADNOC and G42, this system enables real-time monitoring and reporting of high-risk scenarios. It has significantly improved performance in health, safety, and environmental areas.
ADNOC L&S is also investing in remote-control forklift technology. The software was developed by Sinaha Technology and integrated directly onto ADNOC L&S equipment. This collaboration showcases successful local innovation in smart industrial solutions.
The company collaborates with local shipbuilding firms like Al Manzel Marine, Al Bawardi Damen, Abu Dhabi Ship Building, Grandweld, and Premier Marine Engineering Services. These partnerships reflect a strategic focus on modernising maritime infrastructure and strengthening local operational capabilities.
ADNOC L&S' fleet includes locally built vessels such as oil spill response vessels. These assets are crucial for protecting the marine environment and ensuring operational safety.
Sustainability Initiatives
At the "Make it in the Emirates" forum, ADNOC L&S showcased REGENT’s wing-in-ground effect seaglider. This innovative hybrid vehicle combines ship and aircraft capabilities to reduce carbon emissions significantly. It represents a forward-looking solution for sustainable maritime transportation.
Workforce Development
Al Masabi emphasised ADNOC L&S' "People First" strategy, which focuses on nurturing a diverse talent pool. The company employs over 11,000 professionals, including more than 3,200 seafarers. In 2024 alone, over 136 trainees from 15 nationalities participated in training programmes.
The company is committed to empowering Emirati talent through hands-on training programmes. Women represented nearly one-fifth of trainees in these programmes. Al Masabi reaffirmed efforts to increase female representation in maritime careers.
In 2024 alone, ADNOC L&S contributed approximately AED1 billion in in-country value to the national economy. This reaffirms its collaboration with local entities to strengthen domestic manufacturing and industrial growth.
