ADNOC Employees Welcome Sultan Al Jaber For Iftar At Habshan 5 Gas Facility Celebrating Community Spirit

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, recently visited the Habshan 5 gas processing facility. This visit was part of an Iftar gathering with ADNOC employees at the Habshan Industrial Complex. The event highlighted the importance of the Habshan team in achieving ADNOC’s strategic goals while celebrating the UAE’s Year of Community initiative.

During his visit, Dr. Al Jaber expressed gratitude from the UAE Leadership for the workforce's contributions to energy security and economic prosperity. He met with Emirati employees, including Aamna Al Shehhi, ADNOC’s first female Plant Inspector. She demonstrated how AI is transforming her work using a robotic gecko and drone.

Dr. Al Jaber emphasised ADNOC’s dedication to nurturing Emirati talent, highlighting the success of 750 UAE Nationals in a technical exercise called Tamkeen. This initiative involved managing onshore oil and gas sites effectively. He also stressed the importance of adopting AI to fuel industrial growth in the UAE.

The Habshan 5 facility is a key component of ADNOC Gas’ integrated lower-carbon gas value chain near Bab Field. It processes over 10 billion standard cubic feet (scf) of natural gas daily, meeting 60% of the UAE’s gas needs. This complex strengthens ADNOC’s position as a leading sulfur supplier and a major exporter of naphtha and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The facility utilises advanced technologies like Neuron 5 and Real Time Optimizer (RTO) to enhance asset performance while reducing emissions. These innovations demonstrate ADNOC's commitment to sustainability and efficiency in operations.

ADNOC Gas is pursuing significant growth projects across Habshan, aiming to increase gas processing capacity beyond 13 billion scf per day by 2029. These projects support Borouge 4, Ruwais LNG, and efforts towards achieving gas self-sufficiency in the UAE.

Investing in Future Growth

More than 950 UAE Nationals are integral to operations within the Habshan Industrial Complex, showcasing ADNOC's investment in local talent development. Dr. Al Jaber noted that ADNOC Gas significantly contributed to the economy through its In-Country Value (ICV) programme in 2024.

This programme prioritises local goods and services under the ‘Make it in the Emirates’ initiative. Dr. Al Jaber stated: "In the Year of Community, we are reminded that progress is a shared journey – achieved hand in hand."

He further added that ADNOC will continue investing in people, leveraging AI, and driving sustainable growth for enduring national value.
