ADNOC Awards AED 543 Million In Contracts For Locally Made Industrial Products To Boost UAE Economy

ADNOC has awarded contracts worth AED543 million ($147.8 million) to nine suppliers for locally produced industrial goods. This announcement was made at the Make it in the Emirates forum. These contracts, supported by ADNOC's In-Country Value (ICV) programme, cover a variety of products such as personal protective equipment, drilling and production chemicals, valves, biodiesel, and corrosion inhibitors.

The agreements aim to enhance ADNOC's supply chain resilience, reduce import dependency, and create more private sector jobs for Emiratis. The ICV programme is a platform for businesses to leverage diverse commercial opportunities. ADNOC plans to locally manufacture AED90 billion ($24.5 billion) worth of products by 2030.

Yaser Saeed Almazrouei, ADNOC Executive Director, People, Commercial and Corporate Support, stated that these long-term contracts for UAE-made products transform business demand into real opportunities. "Through these long-term contracts for made-in-the-UAE products, we are turning our business demand for critical industrial products into tangible opportunities that empower manufacturers in the UAE to grow and compete," he said.

The awarded suppliers include Al Ghaith Industries, Union Chlorine LLC, C1 Water Industries LLC, RAK CHEM Industries, and EMOCHEM. These contracts build on the success of ADNOC’s ICV programme which has reinvested AED242 billion into the UAE economy since 2018 and created jobs for 17,000 Emiratis in the private sector.

The Make it in the Emirates event in Abu Dhabi serves as a key platform for investment in the UAE’s industrial ecosystem. During this event, ADNOC highlighted numerous commercial opportunities across its value chain. Manufacturers and SMEs are encouraged to explore these prospects through the 'Make it with ADNOC' app.

This app provides businesses with insights into products ADNOC intends to purchase. It offers a more streamlined procurement process by integrating visibility into future product needs. This initiative supports local manufacturers by offering them a competitive edge in fulfilling ADNOC's procurement requirements.

ADNOC's commitment to local manufacturing not only strengthens its supply chain but also boosts economic growth within the UAE. By fostering local production capabilities, ADNOC is paving the way for sustainable development while supporting Emirati employment in the private sector.
