ADNOC And AIQ Achieve Milestone With Successful Trial Of ENERGYai AI Solution For Energy Sector

ADNOC and AIQ have announced a successful trial of ENERGYai, an innovative AI solution designed for the energy sector. This tool combines a large language model with ADNOC's extensive data to enhance operational efficiency. The 90-day trial showed that ENERGYai significantly improved exploration accuracy and provided actionable insights for production optimisation.

The trial demonstrated a 70% increase in accuracy for seismic interpretation and enhanced reservoir monitoring. This AI solution offers insights in natural language, making it user-friendly for engineers. Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC Upstream CEO, stated, "The successful completion of this proof of concept for ENERGYai has shown extremely promising results, and has confirmed the potential of the solution to be a powerhouse for value creation and sustainable energy production."

ADNOC and AIQ Trial ENERGYai AI Solution

ENERGYai integrates a 70-billion-parameter language model with over five decades of ADNOC's knowledge. This integration aims to optimise operations by leveraging vast amounts of proprietary data. The AI agents are trained to perform specific tasks across the energy value chain, enhancing both speed and precision in exploration activities.

The trial also highlighted improvements in data quality by detecting errors and standardising formats. Magzhan Kenesbai, Acting Managing Director of AIQ, remarked on the collaboration between ADNOC experts and over 100 specialists, stating that this alignment was crucial for achieving the milestone. "This milestone was made possible through close alignment between ADNOC subject matter experts, the expertise of 100+ specialists, and the establishment of robust and secure AI infrastructure," he said.

Building on its initial success, ENERGYai will continue to utilise petabytes of data to empower ADNOC's workforce. The goal is to establish ADNOC as a leading AI-enabled energy company globally. By H1 2025, a scalable version featuring five operational AI agents will be ready. These agents will handle subsurface operations and undergo testing across various upstream assets.

The plan includes expanding its application to thousands more wells, further solidifying its role in enhancing efficiency within the energy sector. As these developments unfold, ENERGYai is poised to become an integral part of ADNOC's strategy for sustainable energy production.
