ADJD Showcases Legal Culture And Innovation At Abu Dhabi Book Fair

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) showcased its commitment to enhancing legal awareness and introducing innovative services at the 33rd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), which took place from 29th April to 5th May at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This participation aligns with the ADJD's ongoing efforts to promote legal education across various segments of society, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who emphasizes the importance of legal knowledge as a cornerstone for the rule of law.

During his visit to the Department's pavilion, Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Under-Secretary of the ADJD, highlighted the diverse activities designed to engage the public and spread educational messages. The pavilion not only served as a platform for introducing the Department's latest services but also featured products crafted by inmates from correction and rehabilitation centres. These items, ranging from handicrafts to artistic works, underscore efforts to support inmates in acquiring skills that facilitate their reintegration into society.

ADJD Enhances Legal Awareness

The ADJD's presence at ADIBF also included a display of legal publications, offering a rich selection of books and journals in the judicial and legal fields. These resources encompass newly enacted legislations, research, specialized studies, and judgments from the Court of Cassation in Abu Dhabi, all aimed at enriching judicial work.

Furthermore, the Department's participation highlighted its campaigns launched through the Abu Dhabi Centre for Legal and Community Awareness (Masouliya). These initiatives focus on combating domestic violence and promoting awareness about preventive measures, rights and duties within families, and penalties for offenders. Another significant campaign is "Respecting Privacy... a Right & Duty," aimed at educating social media users about legal responsibilities related to privacy violations.

In addition to legal education, the ADJD provided family and psychological consultations at the fair through a team of specialists. The Department also organized contests and interactive activities in the children's corner to educate young attendees and strengthen family bonds, contributing to societal cohesion and stability.

A notable feature of the ADJD's pavilion was the introduction of services offered by the ADJD’s English Notary Services Bureau. As the first of its kind in the Middle East, this bureau plays a crucial role in supporting the business sector by simplifying legal documentation procedures. This initiative enhances Abu Dhabi's competitiveness on an international scale and bolsters its attractiveness for foreign investment.

The ADJD's multifaceted participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair underscores its dedication to legal education and community engagement. By offering a wide range of activities and services, the Department continues to support societal awareness and uphold Abu Dhabi's position as a leading hub for legal excellence and business competitiveness in the region.
