ADJD Introduces Edmaj Brand To Enhance Inmate Reintegration Through Correctional Products
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department's Correctional and Rehabilitation Policies Committee has introduced a new brand identity for products made by inmates. Named "Edmaj," meaning "Inclusion" in Arabic, this initiative aims to improve the reintegration of inmates into society. The announcement was made during a meeting led by Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, the department's Undersecretary.
Al Abri highlighted that "Edmaj" is part of a broader strategy to enhance rehabilitation programmes. These programmes aim to transform into platforms that support inmates in building new lives through skills and productivity. This reflects the humanitarian and social aspects of rehabilitation efforts.

The committee also examined plans to develop rehabilitation and production initiatives within the centres. They discussed ways to promote inmate-made products under a unified identity. This aligns with goals for community integration and socio-economic empowerment.
Al Abri stressed the importance of creating an integrated rehabilitative environment. This environment focuses on education, training, and production. The goal is to equip inmates with skills that enhance their societal interaction, support stability, and encourage tolerance and coexistence.
A permanent exhibition has been opened at the main headquarters of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. It showcases products crafted by inmates from correctional and rehabilitation centres. This exhibition allows the public to see the skills developed through vocational training programmes.
The exhibition serves as a sustainable marketing channel for various inmate-made products like woodwork, handicrafts, and art. It provides economic integration opportunities for inmates after they complete their sentences.
This initiative demonstrates a commitment to supporting inmates' transition back into society by providing them with practical skills and opportunities for economic participation.
