ADIO And AD Ports Group Collaborate With Stellantis To Develop Integrated Automotive Ecosystem In Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and AD Ports Group have entered into a strategic partnership with Stellantis, a major player in the global automotive industry. This collaboration aims to create an integrated automotive ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, aligning with the emirate's vision of becoming a key hub for automotive exports, technology, and industrial innovation.

Stellantis will work closely with ADIO to explore investment opportunities within Abu Dhabi's automotive sector. The company will leverage its global expertise alongside the emirate’s advanced logistics infrastructure and supportive business environment. This partnership is expected to enhance Abu Dhabi's position as a strategic location for automotive exports.

New Automotive Ecosystem Development in Abu Dhabi

The agreement seeks to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s automotive sector by expanding into Middle East and Africa markets. It also focuses on developing autonomous taxi solutions and advancing research in next-generation mobility systems. These efforts aim to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in automotive technologies.

ADIO and AD Ports Group will offer strategic support through market intelligence. Their focus will be on enhancing supply chains and enabling local manufacturers to seize emerging opportunities. This initiative is part of broader efforts to boost Abu Dhabi’s industrial and trade sectors through impactful initiatives and global partnerships.

Mohammed Al Kamali, Chief Industry and Trade Officer at ADIO, stated, "This collaboration marks a strategic step towards enhancing Abu Dhabi’s industrial and trade ecosystem." He emphasized their commitment to working with both public and private partners to support investments in high-impact sectors.

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of Maritime & Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, highlighted the potential for innovative mobility solutions. By combining Stellantis’ expertise with their logistics networks, they aim to scale these solutions across the Middle East and Africa while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role in global supply chains.

Future Mobility Solutions

Patrick Labilloy from Stellantis MEA noted that "Abu Dhabi offers the vision, infrastructure and global connectivity needed to shape the future of mobility." The agreement reflects Stellantis' commitment to co-developing solutions in electrification, autonomous transport, and sustainable urban mobility.

This partnership supports ADIO’s Automotive Sector Programme launched in May 2025 under the "Make it in the Emirates" campaign. The programme aims to develop an integrated automotive ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, promote R&D, deliver quality services, and organise auctions for luxury vehicles.

A surge in automotive exports from Abu Dhabi has been observed recently. This growth is attributed to investments in smart logistics systems, trade agreements, and increasing demand for UAE-manufactured vehicles. Such developments underscore the emirate's growing influence in the global automotive market.
