AD Ports Group Enhances Collaboration With KazMorTransFlot For Caspian Sea Shipping Expansion
Noatum Maritime, part of AD Ports Group, has enhanced its partnership with Kazakh entities by signing Heads of Terms with Kazakhstan National Shipping Company – KazMorTransFlot (KMTF). This subsidiary of KazMunayGas aims to boost operations in the Caspian Sea. The agreement focuses on constructing two container vessels designed for this region, each exceeding 500 TEUs in capacity.
The new vessels will be larger than the current ones in the Caspian Sea. They promise better turnaround times and increased capacity. Advanced cargo systems will improve scheduling and operational efficiency. This development aligns with plans to create a high-capacity intermodal system across the Caspian Sea using ferries and terminal infrastructure.

The collaboration also seeks to expand the tanker fleet for crude oil transport. This move supports Kazakhstan's energy sector and strengthens ties between the partners. The companies aim to reduce transit times for Kazakh exporters and stakeholders in the middle corridor through these initiatives.
Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of AD Ports Group's Maritime & Shipping Cluster, stated, "We remain deeply committed towards our vision of facilitating international trade by enhancing and expanding our collaboration with our valued partners in Kazakhstan. Together we have achieved much success in the Caspian region, underscoring the strength of our partnership. This Heads of Terms not only solidifies our bond but also paves the way for new opportunities and shared growth."
Aidar Orzanhov, Director General of KazMorTransFlot, expressed pride in strengthening ties with AD Ports Group. He noted that both organisations share a vision for advancing trade and logistics in the Caspian Sea region. "Together we are creating new opportunities that will benefit not only our organisations, but also the wider economy," he said.
This agreement builds on a joint venture established in 2022 called Caspian Integrated Maritime Solutions (CIMS). CIMS has played a crucial role in providing integrated offshore solutions and shipping services within the Caspian Sea area.
The collaboration between Noatum Maritime and KMTF highlights their commitment to enhancing maritime operations in the region. By focusing on vessel construction, fleet expansion, and infrastructure development, they aim to support economic growth and improve trade efficiency.
