Tickets are now available for the much-anticipated Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024 Individuals and Mixed Teams. This premier event is set to captivate audiences from the UAE and beyond, taking place at the Mubadala Arena from May 19-24. The International Judo Federation, in collaboration with the UAE Judo Federation, is organizing this week-long competition, which will see hundreds of judokas from over 100 countries vying for glory.
Marking its 37th edition, the World Judo Championships in Abu Dhabi serves as the final qualifying round for athletes aiming for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The judo events at the Olympics are scheduled from July 27 to August 2, making this championship a critical opportunity for competitors.
Mohammed Bin Tha’aloob Saleem Al Darie, President of the UAE Judo Federation, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting such a significant event in Abu Dhabi for the first time. He highlighted the event's role in conveying Abu Dhabi's message of peace, tolerance, diversity, and unity to the global community. Al Darie also emphasized the importance of this championship as a prelude to the Paris Olympics, expecting a strong turnout from both local and international sports enthusiasts.
Marius L. Vizer, President of the International Judo Federation, commended Abu Dhabi's commitment to sports and its proven track record as an exceptional host for IJF events. He expressed confidence in the UAE Judo Federation's ability to deliver a world-class event that combines spectacle, excellence, and hospitality.
Tickets for this prestigious event are priced from AED250 to AED550 per day for VIP access and can be purchased online. The competition boasts a prize pool of 800,000 Euros, with individual events spanning the first five days across seven weight categories for both men and women. Gold medal winners in individual competitions will receive 26,000 Euros, with their coaches awarded 5,200 Euros. Silver and Bronze medalists and their coaches will also receive substantial cash prizes. In team competitions, Gold medalists will earn 90,000 Euros, Silver medalists 48,000 Euros, and Bronze medalists 25,000 Euros.
