Abu Dhabi Signs MoU With Slovak Republic To Boost Economic Cooperation
The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance economic collaboration. This agreement focuses on key sectors such as manufacturing, tourism, innovation, advanced technologies, and logistics services. It aims to fortify the economic ties between Abu Dhabi and the Slovak Republic through shared initiatives that promote trade, investment, and innovation.
Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Under-Secretary of ADDED, highlighted the significance of this agreement in strengthening economic relations and fostering a vibrant investment ecosystem in Abu Dhabi. He emphasized that this strategic partnership is a step towards enhancing Abu Dhabi's position in the global investment arena and contributing to its economic diversification efforts.

Vladimír Šimoňák, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, pointed out the substantial potential for economic cooperation between Slovakia and Abu Dhabi. He mentioned that both regions could benefit from enhanced bilateral trade and investment cooperation. Šimoňák also noted the opportunities for joint ventures in infrastructure development, technology, renewable energy, and innovation.
The MoU is expected to pave the way for investors to explore numerous opportunities in both regions. The Slovak Republic, with its strategic location in Europe and strong manufacturing industries such as automotive, machinery, and pharmaceuticals, presents a promising destination for foreign direct investment (FDI).
This partnership also aims to facilitate the entry of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups into the Abu Dhabi market. It promotes establishing relations between financial institutions and creating a joint investment fund to support economic ties further. This initiative underscores the importance of international collaboration in diversifying Abu Dhabi's economy and increasing its contributions to non-oil GDP.
Overall, this MoU represents a pivotal step towards fostering robust bilateral relations between Abu Dhabi and the Slovak Republic. By focusing on shared commitments to economic prosperity, this agreement sets the groundwork for fruitful collaboration across various sectors.
