Abu Dhabi Non-Oil Exports To Poland Soars 253% In 2023

Abu Dhabi's non-oil exports to Poland have experienced a remarkable increase of 253% in 2023, showcasing the success of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) in strengthening economic relations between the two countries. This significant growth was announced at the 2nd Business Forum between Abu Dhabi and Poland, held in the Silesia Region of Poland. The forum brought together high-ranking government officials and industry leaders from both sides, marking a pivotal moment in bilateral relations and highlighting the progress made thus far, as well as the promising opportunities that lie ahead.The event was attended by key figures such as Jakub Chełstowski, Marshal of the Silesia Region, Jakub Sławek, Ambassador of Poland to the UAE, and Mohammed Al Harbi, UAE Ambassador to Poland. Leading the delegation from Abu Dhabi was Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED. The delegation included senior officials and executives from various government entities and private sector companies in sectors such as education, healthcare, energy, industry, technology, food and beverage, and AgriTech.Discussions during the forum focused on a range of sectors including renewable energy, technology, healthcare, and infrastructure. These discussions showcased the potential for collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Poland. Participants engaged in lively conversations, shared insights, and explored potential joint ventures, reaffirming their belief in the limitless possibilities of cooperation between the two nations.The forum also provided valuable insights into Abu Dhabi's trade facilitation solutions and industrial sector. This served as an opportunity for participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of Abu Dhabi's industrial landscape and explore avenues for investment and partnership.In his keynote speech at the forum, Rashed Al Blooshi emphasized the significance of this collaboration in fortifying the bonds between Abu Dhabi and Poland. He stated, "Through this collaboration, we aim not only to enhance bilateral relations but also to chart a path towards a more prosperous future, one that transcends boundaries and fosters mutual prosperity for both nations. It is within this framework of cooperation and shared vision that we sow the seeds for lasting economic ties."To further enhance bilateral relations, ADDED and the Silesia region signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last year. The MoU aims to develop economic, industrial, technological, and trade relations between the two sides.Ahmed Khalifa Al Qubaisi, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted the Chamber's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between Abu Dhabi and Poland. He emphasized the forum's significance as a dynamic platform for communication, knowledge sharing, and building direct partnerships among international businesses. Al Qubaisi mentioned that the Chamber will hold numerous business meetings with senior officials and business leaders in Poland, as well as B2B meetings with private sector companies participating in the forum.Dr. Ali Husain Makki, Executive Director of Logistics and Trade Facilitation Sector at ADDED, highlighted the strength of bilateral relations between Abu Dhabi and Poland and the ample cooperation opportunities in various sectors. He emphasized the initiatives launched by ADDED to facilitate trade and ensure ease of doing business. These initiatives include reducing costs and requirements, simplifying procedures, and enabling seamless integration of government services. Dr. Makki urged investors and business leaders from both sides to capitalize on these solid grounds.The UAE and Poland have a deep-rooted history of cooperation, with over 20 standing agreements reflecting their strong partnership. The 2nd Business Forum between Abu Dhabi and Poland serves as a platform for deepening economic and cultural relations, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable development.
