Abu Dhabi Mobility Provides Free Transport For Visitors To Sheikh Zayed Festival In Al Wathba
The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) under the Department of Municipalities and Transport is set to meet the transportation needs of visitors attending the Sheikh Zayed Festival. This event will be held in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, from 1st November 2024 to 15th February 2025. The festival celebrates Emirati culture and heritage, honouring the values established by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
To facilitate access to the festival, Abu Dhabi Mobility will operate nine buses offering free transport for attendees. These buses will run from various locations in Abu Dhabi city to the festival site in Al Wathba via service number 408. The service will include up to 48 round trips on weekdays and 54 on weekends and public holidays, with a bus every 20 minutes.

The bus routes will start at Abu Dhabi's main bus station, passing through Rabdan Mall on Al Ittihad Street and an area opposite Baniyas Court before reaching the festival venue. From Sunday to Thursday, outbound trips will operate from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, while return trips will run from 4:30 pm until midnight. On Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays, services extend until 11:00 pm for outbound trips and until 1:10 am for return journeys.
A designated area for passenger pick-up and drop-off will ensure a smooth journey for visitors. Taxis will be readily available in coordination with transport officials. Visitors can book taxis by calling 600535353 or using the Abu Dhabi Taxi app or other electronic payment methods for convenience.
The traffic management team will oversee traffic flow around the festival area in collaboration with strategic partners. Road Service Patrol units will manage traffic near the event site and assist road users with vehicle breakdowns such as fuel delivery, tyre changes, and battery charging. Vehicle towing services will also be available to remove broken-down vehicles safely.
An on-site team of inspectors from Abu Dhabi Mobility will support festival attendees by providing assistance as needed. Contact centre staff will offer information on bus timings, resolve customer complaints, handle lost-and-found queries, and coordinate with operational teams to meet visitor needs effectively.
This year's Sheikh Zayed Festival promises a family-friendly atmosphere filled with joy and enriching cultural experiences. With comprehensive transport arrangements in place, visitors can look forward to a seamless journey to enjoy this celebration of authentic Emirati traditions.
