Abu Dhabi Forms First Emirati Advisory Doctors Committee To Elevate Healthcare
In a strategic initiative to bolster Abu Dhabi's healthcare system, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has formed the first Emirati Advisory Doctors Committee. This committee includes DoH leaders and 14 eminent Emirati clinicians and researchers from top healthcare providers in the emirate.
The committee, chaired by Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, aims to foster ongoing dialogue between DoH and frontline practitioners. It will assess the evolving healthcare landscape and pinpoint areas for enhancement across various medical fields such as oncology, diabetes, primary care, gynaecology, infant health, mental health, cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases, orthopaedic surgery, emergency medicine, internal medicine, genetic and genomic medicine, and cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi serves as Deputy Chairman of the committee. The group promotes two-way communication, allowing DoH to understand the challenges faced by healthcare providers while enabling practitioners to provide feedback on new standards and guidelines.
Committee members are experts in their respective fields and will offer strategic insights on research, innovation, and industry trends. Their input is expected to enhance patient care and elevate treatment standards in Abu Dhabi. This initiative aims to position the emirate as a global hub for healthcare research and innovation.

Diverse Expertise
The committee members were selected from various specialties within prominent facilities in Abu Dhabi. Notable members include Dr. Ghadeera Saeed Al Mansoori from Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Dr. Khaled Al Dahmani from Tawam Hospital, Dr. Abdulla Alhmoudi from SSMC, Dr. Ahmed Abdul Karim Al Hamadi from Tawam Hospital, Dr. Fayez Ibrahim Al Shamsi from Tawam Hospital, Dr. Ahmed AlMaazmi from SSMC.
Other distinguished members are Dr. Humaid Obaid Bin Harmal Al Shamsi from Burjeel Holdings; Dr. Amal Mohamed Al Tenaiji from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City; Dr. Mohamed Yahya Alseiari also from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City; Dr. Muqdad Al Hammadi from Elyzee Hospital; Dr. Yaaqoub Al Hammadi from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City; Dr. Ali Alshamsi also from Tawam Hospital; Dr. Shamsa Abdul Mannan Al Awar also from Tawam Hospital; and Dr. Nahida Nayaz Ahmed from SAKINA Mental Health and Well-being Services.
Regular Meetings
The committee held its first meeting recently and plans quarterly gatherings to discuss industry trends and challenges while seeking feedback on improving Abu Dhabi's healthcare sector.
This collaboration with healthcare specialists across Abu Dhabi aligns with DoH's goal of maintaining community well-being through comprehensive services. The initiative aims to strengthen regulatory frameworks while empowering professionals to shape future healthcare developments in the emirate.
