Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Marks International Day Of Families With Events

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) commemorated the International Day of Families on 15th May with a series of events designed to strengthen family bonds and promote community cohesion. This annual celebration underscores the importance of family unity and community integration, aligning with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of ADJD.

The celebrations, held at the Galleria on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi, spanned three days. They featured dialogue sessions focusing on happiness principles and managing family relationships. These sessions emphasised effective communication, rights and responsibilities, and instilling positive values to address challenges within families.

Various programmes and activities were offered, including a sustainability corner promoting sustainable family relationships. A consultation and family chat corner was staffed by family counsellors from the Judiciary Department. Additionally, there was a dedicated area for families and children to engage in activities together.

The Juvenile Care Centre, affiliated with the ADJD, organised a family forum for juveniles and their families at the centre's headquarters in Al Mafraq. The event showcased therapeutic projects designed for current and future juveniles. These projects included handcrafts and art pieces from the 'Handmade' project, aimed at enhancing juveniles' skills through professional workshops utilising various craft tools.

This initiative is part of the ADJD's ongoing commitment to supporting family unity by enhancing its programmes and awareness initiatives for all family members. The department's efforts are in line with sustaining supportive programmes to ensure family stability as the cornerstone of a connected and cohesive society.
