Abu Dhabi Investment Office And Metal Park Establish Industry 4.0 Competence Centre To Boost Manufacturing Innovation

The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Metal Park Investment ME Ltd have announced a new Industry 4.0 Competence Centre in Abu Dhabi. This advanced hub aims to accelerate digitalisation in the metal manufacturing sector, aligning with the emirate's goal to lead in next-generation industrial innovation. The facility will empower businesses to thrive in a digital and data-driven landscape.

The Centre, covering over five million square feet, is located within Metal Park’s industrial zone in KEZAD, near Khalifa Port. It is specifically designed for the metal manufacturing value chain, offering infrastructure and digital environments for rapid prototyping, pilot testing, and scaling Industry 4.0 applications.

New Industry 4.0 Centre Opens in Abu Dhabi

This Competence Centre will be a gateway to Abu Dhabi’s industrial ecosystem. It provides a platform for developing technologies like robotics, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), predictive maintenance, digital twins, AI-enhanced production optimisation, and autonomous logistics. These advancements are crucial for modernising the industry.

The initiative aligns with the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy (ADIS). The Centre aims to significantly contribute to doubling the manufacturing sector’s GDP contribution to AED 172 billion by 2031. This strategic alignment underscores its importance in economic transformation efforts.

Besides technology development, the Centre will focus on capacity building. It will equip the workforce with skills necessary for operating in a digitally-enabled industrial future. This aspect is vital for ensuring that employees can adapt to new technological demands.

Mohammad Al Kamali, Chief Industry & Trade Officer at ADIO, stated: "Abu Dhabi is entering a new era of economic transformation where innovation, sustainability and advanced technology define our industrial future." His statement highlights the strategic vision behind this initiative.

Strategic Partnerships and Infrastructure

Saleh Shahrestani, Chairman of Metal Park, remarked: "The Competence Centre will be a cornerstone of technological progress in the regional metal industry." This collaboration aims to create an environment where industrial players can develop and implement advanced solutions effectively.

The Centre is scheduled for completion by Q4 2025. It will support Abu Dhabi’s transition into a globally integrated economy focused on exports. Investors will benefit from direct access to strategic partnerships, world-class infrastructure, and a progressive regulatory environment.

This initiative exemplifies how ADIO empowers private sectors to scale globally competitive operations from Abu Dhabi. The partnership with Metal Park demonstrates a commitment to fostering an innovative industrial landscape that supports economic growth and sustainability.
