Abu Dhabi To Host Inaugural DRIFTx Event, Shaping Future Of Urban Mobility

The Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (DMT) has announced a strategic partnership with DRIFTx, a leading global platform dedicated to advancing smart, autonomous, and sustainable urban mobility solutions. This collaboration is set to culminate in a two-day event from 25th to 26th April 2024 at Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi, aiming to bring together industry experts to shape the future of transportation and sustainable mobility.

With the support of the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Abu Dhabi’s Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) cluster, and Bayanat, the event seeks to position Abu Dhabi as a pivotal hub in the field of advanced urban mobility. The DMT's initiative to invite global mobility experts underscores its commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration across multinational organisations, governments, academia, regulatory bodies, and the global start-up community.

Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), highlighted the alignment of Abu Dhabi’s vision with DRIFTx’s mission. He stated, "This partnership signifies our shared goal to catalyse discussions and collaborations that will shape the future of mobility and set new benchmarks in the autonomous vehicle and mobility sector." The event is strategically scheduled during Abu Dhabi Mobility Week, emphasizing the city's dedication to promoting sustainable and safe mobility solutions globally.

Namir Hourani, Managing Director of GMOLx, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with the DMT.
