Abu Dhabi's Department Of Health Introduces Sahatna Mobile App For Enhanced Healthcare Management

The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) has introduced Sahatna, a comprehensive mobile app designed to enhance healthcare management for residents. This app offers easy access to various health services, including appointment scheduling, teleconsultations, and health records. Launched at GITEX 2024 in Dubai, it aims to improve healthcare experiences and promote healthier lifestyles across the emirate.

Sahatna, meaning "Our health" in Arabic, represents a significant step in DoH's mission to develop a data-driven, patient-focused healthcare system. The app provides users with access to Abu Dhabi's entire healthcare network, allowing them to choose between in-person or video consultations. It also enables users to view their medical records through Malaffi and connect family profiles for tracking health and vaccination records.

The app includes an AI symptom checker that helps users assess their symptoms and decide on appropriate care. It also connects with wearable devices to monitor wellness metrics like sleep patterns and activity levels. By analysing this data, Sahatna offers personalised wellness goals to encourage healthier living.

For the first time, participants of the Emirati Genome Program can access personalised genomic reports through Sahatna. These reports empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health based on their genetic information. The app was developed in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Health Data Service (ADHDS), which operates Malaffi.

Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, Under-Secretary of DoH, along with other leaders attended the launch event. Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi stated that Abu Dhabi is advancing as a global healthcare leader by transforming patient care and population health management.

"Abu Dhabi continues to make great strides in cementing its position as a leading healthcare destination globally," said Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi. "At the DoH, we are committed to creating a thriving society by empowering our residents to lead happier, healthier, and longer lives."

Partnerships and Future Plans

Kareem Shahin, CEO of ADHDS, highlighted the partnership with DoH as a transformative step towards better healthcare connectivity. "Our partnership with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to deliver Sahatna represents a transformative leap towards a healthier and more connected future," he said.

Ibrahim Al Jallaf from DoH noted that over 60% of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare facilities are already linked with Sahatna. This integration allows instant access to services without needing multiple apps. He mentioned plans for future updates that will further personalise healthcare experiences.

Visitors in Abu Dhabi can also benefit from Sahatna's features by locating nearby healthcare facilities and exploring available services. They can choose between remote or in-person consultations based on their preferences.
