Abu Dhabi Finance Week 2024 Launches With Leading Financial Experts Discussing The Falcon Economy
The Abu Dhabi Finance Week (ADFW) began with a grand ceremony at ADQ Arena in ADGM, marking the start of over 60 events. The opening featured top financial leaders from more than 100 countries. The theme focused on Abu Dhabi's Falcon Economy, highlighting the city's growing reputation as the 'Capital of Capital'.
The Abu Dhabi Economic Forum (ADEF), in partnership with ADQ and ADDED, followed the opening ceremony. This exclusive event included discussions on the Falcon Economy's current state and future prospects. Senior government officials and private sector leaders from key industries participated. Notable speakers included CEOs from Blackrock, UBS, PGIM, Bridgewater Associates, HSBC, and others.

A session titled 'The ADFW Boardroom: Abu Dhabi In the Global Economy' was among the most attended. Leaders like Sergio Ermotti of UBS and Ray Dalio of Bridgewater discussed global economies. They shared strategies to support Abu Dhabi’s growth in an evolving global landscape.
Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Deputy Group CEO of Mubadala, also spoke later in the day. He provided insights from Mubadala’s perspective as one of Abu Dhabi's top investors. Other sessions covered topics like Building the Falcon Economy and Slowbalization: A New Kind of World Order.
The inaugural Abu Dhabi Capital Markets Forum was held in partnership with ADX. It showcased dynamic publicly traded companies such as PureHealth Group and ADNOC Drilling. Meanwhile, the UBS Investor Forum gathered over 30 CIOs and Founders from leading global hedge funds.
ADQ released a paper titled "A New Era of Capital Flows in a Polycentric World" with ADFW and ADGM. Stern at NYU Abu Dhabi served as an academic advisor for this insightful paper. It explores how global capital flows now come from diverse sources and reach varied destinations.

In the coming days, events like Asset Abu Dhabi and Fintech Abu Dhabi are scheduled. These events aim to enhance Abu Dhabi's status as a major business hub with globally significant discussions.
The first day also featured side events such as iConnections Private Markets House and Greenwich Economic Forum – Chatham House VIP Roundtable chaired by Ray Dalio.
As ADFW continues, it promises to solidify Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading centre for finance and investment discussions worldwide.
