Abu Dhabi Health Department Joins Forces With Eli Lilly And World Obesity Federation For Obesity Management

In a significant move to combat obesity and enhance public health, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has joined forces with Eli Lilly Suisse SA and the World Obesity Federation (WOF). This partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to pioneer innovative strategies for obesity prevention and management in Abu Dhabi. The collaboration underscores a unified approach to address healthcare challenges, leveraging the diverse expertise of each party to foster a healthier future for the Emirate's population.

The MoU was signed in the presence of notable figures including Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Chairman of DoH, and David Ricks, Chair and CEO of Eli Lilly Suisse SA. Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, Undersecretary of DoH, Johanna Ralston, CEO at WOF, and Irina Zaporozhets, President and General Manager for the Middle East and Türkiye (META) Hub at Eli Lilly Suisse SA, were the signatories. This agreement marks a pivotal step towards addressing the complexities of obesity through a multi-sectoral initiative.
