Abu Dhabi Department Of Energy Enhances LPG Safety Awareness During Ramadan With New Campaign Phase

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has launched the second phase of its campaign to promote safe liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) use in the Emirate. This initiative coincides with Ramadan, a time when cooking activities increase significantly. The campaign, titled "Your Safety is Our Priority," aims to raise awareness about following safety standards to protect lives and property.

Dr. Saif Saeed Al Qubaisi, Acting Director General of Regulatory Affairs at the DoE, highlighted their commitment to a sustainable energy sector and a safe environment for residents. He stated: "We firmly believe that the safety of the community is paramount in all aspects of LPG handling. With this campaign, our goal is to ensure that all organizations and individuals adhere to safety protocols and implement the required standards and conditions. This necessitates ongoing collaboration with all relevant parties to prevent accidents or potential hazards. Our collective commitment to upholding these standards helps build a more secure society and promotes the long-term sustainability of the sector as a whole."

DoE Launches LPG Safety Campaign Phase Two

The campaign targets various groups involved with LPG systems, such as labourers, domestic staff, employers in industries like restaurants, and companies involved in labour recruitment. It seeks to foster shared responsibility among government and private sectors by delivering effective awareness messages for a safer Abu Dhabi.

Eng. Ahmed Alsayed Mohamed Alsheebani, Acting Regulatory Affairs Petroleum Product Sector Executive Director at DoE, emphasized: "The LPG Safety Campaign is a significant step in promoting safety practices within the community, particularly given the heightened gas usage during the holy month of Ramadan. We place considerable emphasis on delivering comprehensive awareness workshops and training programs for all the campaign's target audiences, as we understand that ongoing education and training are key to mitigating risks associated with gas utilization."

Alsheebani also noted: "The success of this campaign relies not only on the awareness programs we provide but also on the unified efforts of the whole community. Accordingly, we urge restaurants and employment agencies to offer suitable training to workers; in doing so, we can effect a positive change in individual behavior and promote overall public safety." The campaign includes distributing awareness messages through media outlets and social platforms.

The initiative encourages Abu Dhabi residents to adopt safe gas usage practices at home and work for their well-being and their families'. By collaborating with stakeholders across sectors, it aims to create an environment where everyone plays a role in maintaining safety standards.

This effort underscores DoE's dedication to enhancing public safety while ensuring energy efficiency across Abu Dhabi. By focusing on education and collaboration, they aim to mitigate risks associated with increased LPG use during Ramadan.
