Abu Dhabi Department Of Energy Collaborates With Analog To Enhance AI And ML In Energy Sector

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) and Analog have formalised a partnership to advance Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Physical Intelligence (PI) in the energy and water sectors. This collaboration aims to support digital transformation and promote sustainable growth. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during ADIPEC 2025 by Eng. Ahmed Alsayed Mohamed Al Sheebani from the DoE and Alex Kipman, CEO of Analog.

The agreement underscores a mutual commitment to integrating PI and AI into the energy sector's digital transformation. These technologies are crucial for enhancing efficiency, improving decision-making, and supporting the UAE’s sustainability goals, including its Net Zero 2050 strategy. The MoU outlines efforts to improve AI applications within the AD.WE platform, focusing on operational efficiency and service quality.

AI and ML Integration in Abu Dhabi Energy Sector

Under this partnership, both parties will introduce PI frameworks that connect digital and physical environments using living world models, robotics, and the Analog Neural Agent (ANA). PI goes beyond traditional AI by enabling systems like robots and sensors to perceive, understand, and act in real time. This integration creates adaptive systems that turn information into immediate actions.

Ahmed Al Sheebani stated, "Intelligent systems are rapidly transforming the energy sector. Our collaboration with Analog represents a pivotal step toward leveraging Artificial and Physical Intelligence to enhance our digital capabilities, and accelerate progress toward our sustainability goals in line with the UAE Energy Strategy."

The partnership will also explore establishing an AI and PI laboratory dedicated to developing innovative solutions for the energy and water sectors. This initiative aims to create a shared knowledge base that encourages research partnerships and community engagement across these industries. Additionally, it will focus on enhancing digital governance and developing data strategies.

Alex Kipman remarked, "The next transformation in energy will happen when intelligence becomes part of the world itself. Every turbine, every grid node, every drop of water will sense, predict, and act in harmony with the environment around it." He added that PI is how infrastructure evolves into living systems that learn in real time.

Pioneering Intelligent Technologies

This MoU highlights Abu Dhabi’s strategic focus on pioneering intelligent technologies that unify digital and physical realms. It aims to advance a robust digital innovation ecosystem while fostering collaboration across sectors. The DoE’s leadership is reinforced through this initiative as it drives sustainability efforts towards a smarter energy future for the UAE.

Kipman further noted that Abu Dhabi is at the forefront of this transformation by building an energy ecosystem capable of learning as quickly as global changes occur. He emphasised their joint effort in creating a limitless future where data transforms into understanding.

The collaboration between DoE and Analog signifies a significant step towards PI-driven operations in Abu Dhabi's energy sector. By leveraging advanced technologies like AI and PI, they aim to enhance operational efficiency while aligning with broader sustainability objectives.
