DCD, Fazaa Unite To Aid Emirati Youth's Marriage Preparations With New Benefits

In a significant move to support young couples in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi (DCD) has partnered with Fazaa, a social solidarity initiative under the Ministry of Interior and UAE’s government sector. This collaboration is set to offer a myriad of customised services and value-added benefits specifically tailored for youth on the brink of matrimony, through the Medeem Centre for Family Flourishing, a component of DCD’s Medeem initiative.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Lt. Colonel Ahmed Bouharoun Al Shamsi, Director-General of the Ministry of Interior’s Social Security Fund, Member of the Board of Directors, and Executive Director of Fazaa; alongside Mazen Jaber Aldahmani, Executive Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs at DCD. This MoU introduces the Medeem Exclusive Card for Offers, Incentives, and Benefits from Fazaa, designed to alleviate the financial burden on Abu Dhabi citizens registered in the programme who are nearing marriage.

Supporting Emirati Youth Marriages

The Medeem Exclusive Card, soon to be launched, promises a gold membership that encompasses an extensive range of benefits. These include substantial discounts and offers on wedding-related expenses such as venue hire, wedding stage (kosha) setup, music bands, photography, lighting and sound services, wall and table decorations, flowers, and even the bride’s dress. Additionally, cardholders can enjoy privileges at Fazaa stores, in purchasing used cars, Fazaa Health services, and Fazaa Darek. The card extends beyond these specific offers to include more than 24,000 specific benefits available through Fazaa membership.

Details regarding eligibility and enrollment in the Medeem Family Preparation Centre programme for those approaching marriage will be disclosed shortly. This announcement will also cover the criteria for entitlement to the Medeem card upon the inauguration of the Medeem Centre For Family Flourishing. This initiative not only aims to support young couples financially but also seeks to foster a stable and prosperous community by easing the journey into married life.

This strategic alliance between DCD and Fazaa underscores a shared commitment to social welfare and community development. By providing tangible benefits and support for young couples about to embark on a new chapter in their lives, this initiative represents a significant step forward in enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Abu Dhabi.
