Abu Dhabi Cyber Run And Ride 2026 Draws Strong Community Participation

Abu Dhabi is preparing for strong public participation in Cyber Run and Ride 2026, a two-day event on 17th and 18th January that links running and cycling with cybersecurity awareness. The initiative blends sport, health and digital literacy, and is drawing growing interest from residents and organisations across the emirate.

Cyber Run and Ride 2026 is organised by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with sponsorship from the UAE Cybersecurity Council. The organisers aim to promote regular physical activity while also building understanding of digital and cybersecurity risks, using a safe, interactive setting designed to appeal to different ages and fitness levels.

Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the strong interest reflects growing awareness of active and healthy lifestyles and enthusiasm for initiatives that combine sport and awareness, adding, Cyber Run and Ride offers a comprehensive model for community events that enhance quality of life and promote digital security through an innovative and interactive approach.

The sporting programme begins on 17th January with running events along the Abu Dhabi Corniche. Distances include a half marathon, 10km, 5km and 2.5km, giving options for experienced runners and beginners. On 18th January, non-timed cycling rides will depart from Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Hub, encouraging relaxed, inclusive participation without competitive pressure.

A three-day event village will operate at the Nation Towers car park on the Abu Dhabi Corniche from 15th to 17th January. The village will host community activities and interactive experiences, combining entertainment with educational and technical content, including cybersecurity themes that link the races with broader awareness goals for families and individuals.

The organisers report broad institutional backing for Cyber Run and Ride 2026. Etisalat and EMIRCOM are principal sponsors, while Tissot acts as Official Timekeeper Partner. Other partners include Burjeel Medical City, Al Masaood Automobiles, Pure Health, Aleria, Al Masaood Equipment, Al Ain Water, Daman, CPX, Open Innovation AI, MOHRR and Tadweer, underlining wide-based support for the event’s objectives.
