Abu Dhabi Chamber Marks Year Of Tangible Momentum And Growth

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, on 28 July 2024, initiated a significant organisational shift for the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) by restructuring its Board of Directors.

This move has catalysed a new era focused on strategic initiatives and enhancing the support for the private sector. Since this pivotal change, ADCCI has witnessed a substantial uptick in its activities, demonstrating its crucial role in bolstering Abu Dhabi's economic landscape and fostering business growth.

In the year following the restructure, ADCCI saw its membership swell by 4.9%, reaching over 158,000 companies. This growth is a testament to the increasing confidence businesses have in Abu Dhabi's economy and the Chamber's commitment to facilitating enterprise development.

Notably, sectors such as agriculture, forestry, and fishing experienced a notable 21% growth, with arts and entertainment, and information and communication technologies also seeing significant increases. This diversified expansion across various industries underscores the dynamic nature of Abu Dhabi's business environment.

The Chamber engaged in extensive interactions with the private sector, organising 69 business events, including the prestigious Abu Dhabi Business Week, and hosting 10 legal and commercial workshops. These initiatives were complemented by the efforts of 15 advocacy working groups that worked alongside business leaders to propel policy and regulatory reforms.

Furthermore, ADCCI's commitment to providing valuable insights was evident through the publication of 364 economic reports, aiding in informed decision-making and strategic planning across sectors.

ADCCI's global footprint expanded with the establishment of its first international office in Poland, marking a milestone in Abu Dhabi's efforts to extend its international reach. The Chamber's international activities also included hosting 70 diplomatic trade delegations, sending out 11 outbound delegations to foster market connectivity, and signing 25 global cooperation agreements.

Highlighting its dedication to business excellence, ADCCI awarded the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award to seven companies, acknowledging their innovation and performance. This recognition is part of the Chamber's broader mission to promote excellence and innovation within the business community.

Additionally, the Chamber's commitment to service excellence was reflected in its response to over 18,900 enquiries, achieving a 90.23% satisfaction rating on the TAMM platform, showcasing its effective support and assistance to the business sector.

His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, second vice chairman and managing director of ADCCI, emphasized the Chamber's role in fostering a resilient and ambitious private sector in Abu Dhabi. He stated, "Our progress over the past period demonstrates the resilience and ambition of Abu Dhabi's private sector. Through meaningful partnerships and a commitment to innovation and excellence, we continue to open new pathways for businesses to thrive locally and globally."
