Khalifa Bin Tahnoon Launches Inaugural Abu Dhabi Business Week To Boost Economic Growth

Under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the inaugural Abu Dhabi Business Week (ADBW) commenced. The event, held from 4-6 December 2024 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, was inaugurated by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. It was organised by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Investment Office.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon explored various events at ADBW, such as the Abu Dhabi Business Ecosystem Exhibition. This exhibition highlights investment opportunities in line with the emirate's economic vision. He engaged with business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs to discuss economic developments and incentives for investment and business establishment.

The event serves as a collaborative platform for public and private sectors, global industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators. His Excellency emphasised its role in fostering strategic partnerships that drive sustainable economic development. ADBW aims to position Abu Dhabi as a hub for expanding businesses into regional markets.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of both the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, remarked on the significance of leadership support. He stated: "The patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan... reflects our leadership’s ambitious vision... cementing its position as a global business hub..."

Al Zaabi further noted that ADBW provides a platform for collaboration, networking, and innovation by bringing together global business leaders. He highlighted that this initiative demonstrates Abu Dhabi's commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment conducive to growth.

The event underscores Abu Dhabi's dedication to economic development through investment in research and innovation across sectors. It aims to transition towards a diversified economy using advanced technologies and innovative practices by strengthening public-private cooperation.

ADBW attracts over 10,000 policymakers, senior executives, international investors, and entrepreneurs. More than 150 business leaders participate to explore opportunities, forge partnerships, and promote sustainable economic growth. The event comprises 10 specialised events showcasing efforts to enhance the economic ecosystem.

The week-long programme includes sessions like the Abu Dhabi Business Summit, Innovation Xchange, Marketing Lab, Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit (GMIS), and Family Business Forum. These sessions highlight Abu Dhabi's role as an economic powerhouse aligned with leadership's vision for growth.
