The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has taken a significant step towards enhancing the gaming ecosystem within the emirate by facilitating the relocation of Tamatem Games' headquarters to Abu Dhabi. This move is set to propel the company into its next phase of growth and further solidify Abu Dhabi's position as a burgeoning hub for the gaming industry. The emirate is home to over 70 content creation companies, and ADIO's strategic partnerships, such as the recent collaboration with Ubisoft, aim to bolster this thriving sector.

Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, highlighted Abu Dhabi's commitment to becoming a global nexus for technology and design talent, particularly within the gaming sector. The emirate's world-class ICT infrastructure and skilled workforce are key factors in attracting top talent and industry leaders. Al-Olama emphasized the importance of nurturing Arabic content games, which Tamatem Games specializes in.

Abu Dhabi's New Gaming Ecosystem Leap

Tamatem Games, known for its culturally relevant and localized games for the Arabic-speaking community, boasts a portfolio of over 50 games and 150 million downloads. The company's partnership with ADIO will see it establishing a centre of excellence in Abu Dhabi, joining the largest community of gaming companies in the region. With plans to employ over 40 gaming specialists and collaborate with local universities on internship and training programs, Tamatem Games is poised for significant expansion.

Hussam Hammo, CEO of Tamatem Games, expressed enthusiasm about the strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi, viewing it as an opportunity for innovation and growth. The combined markets of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt are projected to generate over USD 3bn in revenues by 2025. This growth underscores the region's potential as a significant player in the global gaming industry.
