Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024 Explores The Global Impact Of The 'Document Of Human Fraternity'

At the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, a significant panel discussion titled "The Document of Human Fraternity: An Important Message to the World" was held, featuring key figures such as Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, and Bishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis, the Apostolic Nuncio to the UAE. Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam opened the seminar by highlighting the Document of Human Fraternity's pivotal role in modern history. Signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, the document symbolizes a monumental step towards fostering global peace and understanding. Abdelsalam lauded the UAE's leadership for their unwavering support in promoting the document's values.

The Secretary-General underscored the document's aim to leave a lasting humanitarian legacy, encouraging dialogue and peaceful coexistence among different religions and cultures. He noted its global impact, including its adoption by the United Nations as an international day for human fraternity and its integration into educational programs worldwide.

Abdelsalam also detailed various initiatives spurred by the document, such as the Abrahamic Family House and the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity. He praised efforts like interfaith dialogues and international peace convoys that further the document's mission.

Bishop Christophe Zakhia El-Kassis echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the document's role in fostering dialogue between two of the world's largest religious institutions. He highlighted Pope Francis's commitment to spreading its values through educational systems and societal integration, particularly among youth.

El-Kassis also pointed out how the document offers a blueprint for living respectfully in a diverse world, praising the UAE's leadership for their support in promoting global dialogue, tolerance, and coexistence.
