Abu Dhabi Awards Launches Second Edition Of Young Ambassadors Programme To Empower Youth

The Abu Dhabi Awards has initiated the second edition of its "Young Ambassadors" programme at the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood. This event saw participation from members of the UAE Children’s Parliament, the Children’s Advisory Council, and media representatives. The initiative aims to empower young ambassadors to represent the Awards, promote its values, and inspire public nominations for individuals making positive societal impacts in the UAE.

The programme includes orientation sessions and interactive workshops for new ambassadors. These activities are designed to equip them with skills to effectively communicate the Awards' values. Young ambassadors are encouraged to be role models in community engagement and volunteerism. This initiative reflects a commitment to nurturing future leaders who embody social responsibility.

Rym bint Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, highlighted the significance of this programme. She stated, "The launch of the second edition of the ‘Abu Dhabi Awards Young Ambassadors’ is a significant milestone in instilling values of giving and social responsibility in our children, while encouraging their active role in serving the nation and society." The programme supports children's empowerment through dialogue and creativity.

Amal Al Ameri from the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee emphasised that continuing this programme demonstrates dedication to empowering future generations. She noted that young ambassadors will play a crucial role in spreading awareness about the Awards across all Emirates. Al Amri added that engaging children strengthens their social responsibility and leadership skills.

Aisha bint Humaid Alkhayyal, First Deputy to the President of the UAE Children’s Parliament and an Abu Dhabi Awards Ambassador, expressed her enthusiasm for being part of this initiative. She said, "Being part of the Young Ambassadors programme is a valuable opportunity to serve as role models for our peers and promote values of kindness and generosity." The ambassadors aim to spread these values within schools and families.

The initiatives are held under President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's patronage. They reflect the core essence of Abu Dhabi Awards by honouring individuals who selflessly contribute to community service. Over two decades, 100 individuals from 18 nationalities have been honoured for contributions in various fields like healthcare and environmental protection.
