Abdullah Bin Zayed And Mexico's Secretary Of Economy Discuss Economic Cooperation And Investment Opportunities

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently visited Mexico City. During his visit, he met with Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy of Mexico. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and Mexico.

Both parties examined opportunities to enhance collaboration in crucial sectors such as energy, advanced technology, and food security. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the strong relationship between the UAE and Mexico. He emphasised the UAE's commitment to fostering a robust economic partnership that benefits both nations and supports sustainable development.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the visit to boost investment cooperation between the two countries. This agreement was formalised by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Economy.

Another MoU was established between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE and the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology. This agreement aims to create a joint UAE-Mexican Business Council.

The terms for negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement were also signed by Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi and Marcelo Ebrard. This agreement is expected to further strengthen economic ties between the UAE and Mexico.

The meeting saw participation from several key officials including Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri; Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and Salem Rashed Alowais, UAE Ambassador to Mexico.

Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri signed the MoU on behalf of the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Sergio Contreras represented the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology in this agreement.

This visit underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen their economic relations through strategic partnerships in various sectors.
