Abdullah Bin Zayed Leads Graduation Ceremony For AGDA’s Shapers Of Tomorrow Cohort 2024

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the graduation ceremony for the "Shapers of Tomorrow" cohort at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi. The event celebrated 63 students from various programmes, including the Post-Graduate Diploma in UAE Diplomacy and International Relations, Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Diplomatic Leadership, and Master of Arts in Humanitarian Action and Development.

The ceremony was graced by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, along with other dignitaries such as Dr. Anwar Gargash, Zaki Nusseibeh, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Omar Saif Ghobash, Nickolay Mladenov, and Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri. Faculty members and graduates' families also attended.

Nickolay E. Mladenov emphasised the importance of graduates in shaping Emirati diplomacy's future. He stated, "Today’s graduates embody the UAE’s unique approach to diplomacy—one that blends vision, pragmatism, and cultural sensitivity." He encouraged them to lead with empathy and integrity while advancing UAE values globally.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri expressed confidence in the youth's role as "Shapers of Tomorrow." He said they are entrusted with spreading tolerance worldwide and strengthening international cooperation for a secure future. Their mission is crucial for promoting peace and stability globally.

The ceremony also marked the graduation of 24 participants from AGDA's "Future Leaders in Foreign Policy Programme." This initiative aims to enhance diplomatic skills among UAE nationals by addressing contemporary foreign policy challenges across various dimensions.

The programme is designed for Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees, government officials, corporate leaders, and media professionals. It focuses on deepening their understanding of international relations to better equip them for diplomatic roles.

Graduates' Role in Global Standing

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the graduates on their achievements and highlighted their role in enhancing the UAE's global standing. He stressed their contribution to building positive cooperation bridges with other nations to achieve development and prosperity worldwide.

He remarked on the pride associated with serving one's country: "It is a source of pride to work for one's country, and it is an even greater honour to serve a nation like the UAE."

At the end of the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah addressed graduates saying: "One must always cherish every beautiful moment in life, and this is one such moment you are living today." He thanked families for their support and appreciated college members' dedication.
