Abdullah Bin Zayed Affirms Commitment To Supportive Education For Emirati Children

On Emirati Children's Day, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasised the importance of a supportive social and educational system for children. He stated, "We reaffirm our steadfast commitment to providing a supportive social and educational system for our children, enabling them to develop their abilities, nurture their growth, and refine their skills to become the leaders of tomorrow." This day, celebrated annually on 15th March, highlights the significance of investing in children's development.

H.H. Sheikha Mariam bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed that Emirati Children's Day celebrates every child's dreams and learning journey. She remarked, "On Emirati Children's Day, we celebrate every child who dreams, explores, and learns, every father and mother who instil values in their children, every teacher who contributes to shaping young minds, and every institution that places the well-being of the child at the heart of its priorities." The day also honours parents and educators for their roles in nurturing young minds.

Commitment to Emirati Children's Education

Hajer Al Thehli highlighted the importance of cultural heritage in children's upbringing. She said empowering children to engage with their cultural roots is crucial for character development. "We work within the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council to establish effective partnerships that ensure every child has equal opportunities for education and proper upbringing," she explained. This approach helps children stay connected to their identity while contributing to national progress.

Sana Suhail from the Ministry of Family stressed the family's role in shaping a child's identity. She noted that family is fundamental in building character and promoting national identity. ‘’At the Ministry of Family, we work in collaboration with various community organisations to develop supportive environments that ensure every child's right to thrive within a stable and safe family," she stated. This collaboration aims to foster pride in national identity among children.

The "Year of Community" initiative underscores efforts to prioritise children's needs through best practices and policies. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah mentioned that uniting efforts ensures equal opportunities for children's growth. He added that this collaboration helps children face modern challenges while contributing positively to society's prosperity.

H.H. Sheikha Mariam further elaborated on shared responsibilities in child upbringing. "This is yet another occasion to reaffirm that the care and upbringing of a child is a significant shared responsibility," she noted. Families, communities, and sectors must collaborate to nurture confident generations rooted in their identity.
