Abdullah Bin Salem Inaugurates The 55th Middle East Watch And Jewelry Exhibition In Sharjah

The 55th "Middle East Watch and Jewelry Exhibition" was inaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, this event is the largest of its kind in the UAE and the region. Organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it runs until June 1st.

Spanning 30,000 square meters, the exhibition provides a prime venue for deals and partnerships in the gold and jewelry markets. It features over 500 exhibitors and more than 1,800 designers, manufacturers, and specialists from major global companies in watches, gold, gemstones, and rare jewelry. This edition includes participants from Russia, Mexico, Tanzania, Egypt, and other countries.

During his visit to the exhibition, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi explored various displays and designs. He engaged with exhibitors to learn about their products and innovative crafting techniques. The Deputy Ruler also visited platforms showcasing Emirati designers who present modern interpretations of Emirati heritage in gold.

This year's exhibition set a new Guinness World Record for the longest diamond necklace. The necklace measures 108 meters and is crafted from over 600 lab-created diamonds set in 18-carat rose gold. This remarkable achievement highlights the creativity and craftsmanship on display at the event.

Leading companies from around the world are participating in this year's exhibition. Countries represented include the UAE, India, Italy, the UK, the US, Singapore, China, Japan, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Lebanon. These exhibitors are showcasing exclusive designs for 2025 that reflect current trends in the industry.

A series of specialised programs and workshops will run alongside the exhibition. These sessions aim to enhance participants' skills and knowledge about recent developments in the global jewelry industry. Attendees have opportunities to learn from experts about design trends and innovative techniques.

The opening ceremony was attended by several officials accompanying H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi. Among them were Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with other prominent figures who witnessed this significant event.
