Abdullah Bin Salem Recognises Winners Of Sharjah Sports Excellence Programme At Ceremony

During a ceremony at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, honoured winners of the inaugural Sharjah Sports Excellence Leadership Programme. This initiative, launched by the Sharjah Sports Council, recognised outstanding contributions in sports leadership and excellence.

The Sharjah Classic Car Club and Sharjah Cultural Chess Club were awarded Best Leading Club among specialised clubs. Meanwhile, Sharjah Sports Club and Al Hamriyah Cultural Sports Club received the same accolade among sports clubs. Additionally, 12 club employees from Sharjah were honoured with the Unknown Soldier Award for their dedication.

Ammar Ahmed Mahmoud from Sharjah International Marine Sports Club was named Best Support Services Employee among specialised clubs. Haitham Atef Maghari from Sharjah Sports Club won this award in the sports clubs category. Huda Thani Ali from Sharjah Classic Car Club was recognised as Best Institutional Communication Employee among specialised clubs, while Shaimaa Ali Al Saridi from Khorfakkan Cultural Sports Club took the title in the sports clubs category.

Ahmed Sultan Al Hassani from Sharjah International Marine Sports Club received the award for Best Strategy and Performance Employee among specialised clubs. Badr Al Din Abdulmutallib Khidr from Khorfakkan Cultural Sports Club was honoured in this category for sports clubs. Aisha Youssef Al Qassab from Sharjah Classic Car Club was named Best Community Culture Employee among specialised clubs, with Mohamed Ahmed Al Batanouni from Mleiha Cultural Sports Club winning in the sports clubs category.

In the Best Executive Director category, Ahmed Saif Al Tamimi from Sharjah Classic Car Club was recognised for specialised clubs, while Mohamed Ali Al Qusair from Sharjah Sports Club won for sports clubs. The judges and evaluators of the awards were also acknowledged by H.H., who took commemorative photos with them.

Ceremony Highlights and Performances

The event began with the UAE national anthem followed by a speech from Dr Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Sultan, Head of the programme. He welcomed attendees and highlighted achievements since adopting the council’s strategy four years ago. He noted 124 files were received for consideration, alongside field visits and training sessions conducted to enhance Sharjah’s sports ecosystem.

A documentary showcased the programme's journey and its goals to motivate club staff in Sharjah. It emphasised positive impacts on players' performance through key milestones achieved by dedicated teams. A theatrical performance titled "The Hero’s Memory" featured acts highlighting perseverance in sports careers leading to success.

Celebrating Excellence in Sports

The first act of "The Hero’s Memory" recalled significant victories and losses that led to achievements like winning gold awards through dedication. It underscored family support and club roles in shaping champions across various fields. The second act symbolised excellence through an award torch carried by a narrator, reflecting core values such as transparency and leadership.

The final act celebrated players around a golden cup platform, unveiling the championship trophy for programme awards. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi received a commemorative shield from the council as gratitude for his patronage and support of their initiatives.
